Obituary

Aldo Robert Sammartino, 80, of Wickford, Rhode Island and Bonita Springs, Florida passed away October 8th, 2017 at Kent Hospital from complications of pneumonia. He was the husband of Michele (Boyaval) for 52 years. Born in Providence Rhode Island, he was the son of the late William and Elena (Muccino) Sammartino. He was a graduate of Classical High School and University of Rhode Island (1959). He was the owner-operator of Bay Buick in East Greenwich, Rhode Island until his retirement in 2002. He was member of Theta Chi fraternity, Aurora Civic Association, East Greenwich Yacht Club, a Paul Harris fellow of the East Greenwich Rotary Club, the President of the Rhode Island Automobile Dealers Association, and was a member of the board of directors of the National Automobile Dealers Association. During his lifetime he had numerous hobbies including photography, skiing, motorcycle riding, boating & saltwater fishing, traveling, reading, a love for music & dancing, raising butterflies, gardening, birding, Italian cooking, and a flair for haberdashery. He was a lifelong Yankees and New England Patriots fan, and was beloved by friends and family with whom he shared a wonderful sense of humor.
Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Nicole E. King of Corona Del Mar, CA; Robert A. Sammartino and his wife Grace of Tega Cay, South Carolina; William A. Sammartino and his wife Heidi of Cary, North Carolina; Anthony J. Sammartino and his wife Stephanie of Columbia, Maryland. He was the loving and proud Grandfather of Christopher King , Emilie King, Olivia Sammartino, Lily Sammartino, Gabrielle Sammartino, Jack Sammartino, and Taylor Mosher. He was the brother of the late Dr. William Sammartino, and the late Elena Sammartino. He cherished and enjoyed many lifelong and dear friendships.
Visiting hours will be on Wednesday October 11th, 2017 from 4 PM to 7 PM
at Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown, RI 02852. His memorial service will be held at Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home the following morning at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kent Hospital or VNA of Care New England Hospice Care.
