Bernard L. Eaton Obituary

Eaton, Bernard L. Jr., 87, died Thursday, December 20, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Joy B. (Chrostowski) Eaton, and a son of the late Bernard L. and Lillian (Davis) Eaton Sr. Mr. Eaton was employed as a security guard for many years and retired from Woman & Infants Hospital. He was also an accomplished artist. A decorated Korean War Veteran serving with the fifth regimental combat team of the 24th infantry division, he received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a member of the Korean War Veterans Chapter 2 of West Warwick, and Chapter 3 of Chepachet and volunteered as a driver for the VA Hospital. He was also a 32nd degree mason, and a member of the Doric Lodge. He was the beloved father of Sen. Elaine J. Morgan, Dist. 34, Bernard L. Eaton III and David E. Eaton; grandfather of Corey and Brandon Eaton, Samantha Oliveira and Ian Morgan; great grandfather of Levi Alexander James and the brother of the late Frank “Billy”, Francis, Richard, Paul Eaton and the late Marion Watts.

His funeral will be held Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 10:30 am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in St. Rita Church, Oakland Beach Avenue. Burial with Military Honors in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 4-7 pm.
