Hurst, Charles E. Jr., 83, passed away peacefully after a year-long illness with his loving family at his side on Friday, December 23, 2011. He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara L. (Mowry) Hurst for 44 years and a son of the late Charles E. and Edith (Kelley) Hurst. He was the father of Debra Mullaney, Cheryl Gravina, Charles Hurst and the late Kenneth Hurst; brother of Alice Hurst and Edith Johnson and is also survived by six grandsons and one great grandson. Mr. Hurst was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was a salesman for Monroe Auto Equipment and other automotive distributors for many years before retiring
His funeral service will be held Tuesday at 9 am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave. Burial with military honors will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions to VNA Hospice Care of New England, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886 will be appreciated.
