Corinne A. McDermott Obituary

Corinne A. (Scholz) McDermott, 84, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018. Born in Methuen, MA, she was the daughter of the late Fred C. and Louise M. (Belanger) Scholz. Mrs. McDermott was an administrative assistant for the Pawtucket Head Start Program for 15 years and worked in accounts receivable for the Pascale Service Corp of Pawtucket for 15 years before retiring in 1995. She lived in Cumberland, Pawtucket and Harrisville before moving to Warwick in 2015. She was a former Cub Scouts Den Mother and Camp Fire Leader when her children were younger. She was a former secretary for the Pleasant View Neighborhood Advisory Board, past President of the Cumberland Tenants Assoc. at 1 Mendon Rd., and a past Vice President and past President of the Stillwater Heights Tenants Assoc. She was the 2003 Senior Services Volunteer of the Year in Cumberland and enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, embroidery and always wore a sweater to the beach.
She was the mother of Mary Lou Sheats-Hall and her husband CPO Ralph Hall (ret. US Navy), Howard M. “Bucky” Sheats, Jr. (retired Chief of Police, Troy, NH) and his wife Rhonda, Fred C. Sheats and his wife Susan, Deborah Corneau and her late husband Louis, Maureen A. Sheats, the late R. “Bobby” Sheats, Kelly Hodge and her husband Roy, Patrick M. McDermott (Ret. SFC US Army) and his wife Patricia and the late David W. Sheats. She was the sister of the late Lionel Scholz. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 10am in St. Gregory The Great Church, 360 Cowesett Rd., Warwick, RI. Inurnment will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 3004, Warwick, RI 02886 will be appreciated.
