Edward A. Cooney Obituary

Edward A. Cooney, 79, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017. He was born in Providence, the son of the late Edward A. and Genevieve (Martin) Cooney. Mr. Cooney was a self-employed medical supplies salesman for 45 years before retiring in 2007. He lived in Greenville and Newport before moving to North Providence. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a graduate of LaSalle Academy. He is survived by his daughters, Kristen M. Cooney of Lincoln and Jennifer E. Hamel and her husband Chris of Chepachet. He is also survived by his beloved companion Carol Falcone. He was the father of the late Edward J. "Teddy" Cooney and brother of the late Maureen Weston. The family would like to thank all of the nurses and staff of Hopkins Manor for the exceptional care provided to their father.
His funeral will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11am in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Home, 643 Putnam Ave. (Rt.44) Greenville. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
