Eileen Jordan (Kearns), 69, of Saunderstown, RI passed away peacefully on June 23, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Thomas P. Jordan for forty-eight years.
Born in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Kathleen (Murray) Kearns. She graduated from St. Augustine's School, Central High School and attended Sacred Heart College.
Eileen worked as a Special Education Paraprofessional for the North Kingstown School District for over 25 years before retiring. Eileen and her husband loved to travel and visited numerous countries; she especially enjoyed Ireland where they had close family ties. Eileen loved the beach and spending time in the sand with her grandkids. Although she was reserved around some, she wore her heart on her sleeve for those that mattered the most to her. Eileen never missed an opportunity to shower her friends and family with gestures of her affection.
A Communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church, she served as a Eucharistic Minister.
In addition to her husband, she leaves a son, Patrick K. Jordan, his wife Laura, and their two children Finn and Teagan of Castleton-on-Hudson, NY; two daughters, Caitlin J. Shaffer, her husband Brian, and their two children Laurel and Clara of New York City, NY and Breinne J. Famulari, her husband Paul, and their two children Brennan and Paxton of Barrington, NH; and two brothers, William Kearns and Dennis Kearns, both of Bridgeport, CT. She was the sister of the late Michael Kearns.
The family would like to thank Beacon Hospice for all their support and care through this difficult time.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 10am at St. Francis de Sales Church, 381 School Street, North Kingstown, RI. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 3-7pm at the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown, RI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Francis de Sales Church will be appreciated.
