Ernest Balasco, 87, of North Kingstown, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014. He was the husband of the late Angelina A. (Coppola) Balasco.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Antonio and Maria (Aucone) Balasco; and brother of the late Matthew, Victor and Antonio Balasco.
He leaves three children, Ernest A. Balasco and his wife Eleanor of Exeter, Edward R. Balasco of Cranston and Maria A. Cassaday and her husband Guy of North Kingstown; a sister Florence Soares of Smithfield; and five grandchildren, Lauren, Leana, Nicholas, Gianna and Christopher.
Mr. Balasco was a US Army Veteran serving during WWII in the Pacific Islands.
He was a sales manager for Acme Bi-Rite Beauty Supply Company for thirty years. He later served as a clerk for the Senate Finance Committee where he retired after fifteen years of distinguished service.
He loved living in Wickford where he spent ten years of his later life. His favorite spot was the Beach Rose Cafe; and we are forever grateful for the love and compassion that the staff always showed him.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 11am in St. Anthony Church, 5 Gibbs Street, North Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Southpointe Christian Church, 1200 Bald Hill Road, Warwick 02886 will be appreciated.
