Frank Tavares, 73, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at home. He was the loving husband of the late Nancy A. (Roberts) Tavares. Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Frank and Rose Marie (Archambault) Tavares. Frank was a Vietnam Army Veteran and received the National Defense Service Medal. He worked as a Ground Operations Manager for T.F Green Airport and Maintenance Supervisor for the University of Rhode Island, before retiring.
Frank was the beloved father of Sherri-Ann Tavares, Susan M. Petrarca, and Frank E. Tavares; grandfather of Michael A. Petrarca, Jenna M. Petrarca and Katelyn R. Caswell; brother of Carol Raymond.
His funeral service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 10 am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Burial will be in Pocasset Hill Cemetery, Tiverton. Visiting hours, Friday, 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Heart Association, 1 State St., Suite 200, Providence, RI 02908, will be appreciated.
