Harvey C. Young, “Harv” (also affectionately known as “Uncle Harv”) 60, of Sebastian, FL, died March 11, 2011 at VNA Hospice, Vero Beach, FL. He was born in Providence, RI, a son of Flora B. Young of Spring Hill, FL and the late Howard C. Young. He spent his younger years mostly in Pascoag, RI moving to Sebastian in 2005.
A simple man who lived life on his own terms, without apologies. Treasured friend and beloved family member who will leave behind a void that can never be filled. He was a devoted Christian who loved his church (Calvary Chapel). A lifelong carpenter, a loving person with a heart of indescribable depth, gifted in his capacity to charm and draw people to himself. He loved animals, the outdoors (especially fishing and hunting) and lived life to the fullest.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his 6 brothers and sisters, Mary Ducat of Putnam, CT, Jerri Clifford of Killingly, CT, Fay Moulton of Pomfret, CT, Daniel Young of Sebastian, FL, Howard Young of Killingly, CT and Jack Young of Putnam CT; 21 nieces and nephews who loved him dearly, his cat Mr. Jingles, dog Wyatt; lifelong friends Robin and Billy of Sebastian, FL, Jim of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Carmine of Jupiter, FL, Dave of Putnam, CT, Steve of Harrisville, RI and many other dear friends from the CT and RI area. He will be missed
His Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 1PM in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave. (Rt.44) Greenville, RI. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
