Jeannette B. (Peters) Voas, 84 passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Cortland Place, Greenville surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife for 63 years of Robert J. Voas former Chief of Smithfield Police Department and former Lieutenant of the Rhode Island State Police.
She was born in Central Falls on May 7, 1934, a daughter of the late Gabriel and Ella (Musoli) Peters.
Jeannette was a very active parishioner of St. Theresa Church and choir member as well as being a CCD teacher for 25 years.
Mother of five children, Linda M. Audet and husband, Ted of Greenville, Robert J. Voas, Jr. and wife, Rene’ of Edgewater, Fl., John C. Voas and wife, Brenda of Burrillville, Deborah A. Labrecque of Watertown, Ct., Sally A. Voas of Lincoln, sister of Rose Alba of Narragansett and Sally Gravino of Warwick; grandmother of Andrea Toth, Nicole Schatz, Amanda Finnegan, Robert J. Voas, III, Kelsey Foisey, Samantha Voas, and Megan Voas; great grandmother of seven.
She was the sister of the late Louis Peters, Alice Kilsey, Violet Candjon, Mary Travers, and Agnes Hayek
Funeral on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 8:30 am from the Tucker-Quinn Funeral Chapel 643 Putnam Ave., (Rt 44) Greenville with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Theresa Church, 35 Dion Drive, Nasonville. Visiting hours in Tucker-Quinn Funeral Chapel on Tuesday 4-7 pm. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to either the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38148 or to the Alzheimers Assoc.-R.I. Chapter, 245 Waterman St., Suite 306, Providence, R.I. 02906.
