Joshua R. Rechter Obituary

Joshua R. Rechter, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 a day after his 42nd birthday. He was born in Providence, a beloved son of Mark W. and Kathleen M. (Strasser) Rechter. Joshua really enjoyed working with and improving children’s lives as a counselor at the St. Mary’s Home for Children and previously at the Harmony Hill School. He also worked at Whole Foods for several years, was a talented and aspiring writer and bowled with the St. Rocco’s Bowling League. Joshua lived in Glocester most of his life before living in Providence and North Providence.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his sister, Jennifer Thibodeau (Paul) of Cranston and his brother Justin Rechter (Pamela) of Crown Point, IN. He was the uncle of Sergio Sanchez, Andrew and Audrey Rechter, Talia and Jordan Thibodeau. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles, cousins and many many friends.
His funeral will be held Friday, December 6, 2019 at 9AM from the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave., (Rt.44), Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Eugene’s Church, 1247 Putnam Pike, Chepachet. Burial will be in Acotes Hill Cemetery, Chepachet. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 5-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Glocester Animal Rescue, PO Box B, 121 Chestnut Hill Rd., Chepachet, RI 02814 or E.G. Animal Protection League, 44 Worthington Rd., Cranston, RI 02910 will be appreciated.
