Kathleen J. Bligh Obituary

Kathleen J. Bligh, 91, died peacefully Friday, November 8, 2019 at Scalabrini Villa, with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Patrick J. Bligh. Born in Ireland, a daughter of the late Cormac and Ellen (Noone) Callaghan, she had been a resident of Cranston for 40 years. Kathleen was employed as a nurse and started her career at Nallane Withington Hospital in Manchester, England. After moving to Cranston, she worked at Cranston General Hospital for 35 years. She was a member of the Irish Ceilidhe Club of Rhode Island and was a communicate of St. Matthews Church, Cranston. She was the beloved mother of Kathleen M. Roy (the late Paul Roy), Brenda A. Neary (Frank), Kevin P. Bligh and Norman J. Bligh (Tammie); grandmother of Christopher Roy, Laura Nicklaus (Logan), Kelcey Bligh, Matthew Neary and the late Steven Neary; sister of Nora Regan, the late Patrick Callaghan, Sean Callaghan, Ted Callaghan, Bridie Hersey, Lena Scanlon, Theresa Tully and Nancy Bell.

A visitation will be held Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 8-10 am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Matthew Church, Elmwood Ave., Cranston. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 220 North Main Street, Suite 104, Natick, MA 01760 will be appreciated.
