Obituary

Paul G. Imondi, 84, of Lincoln, passed away on November 20, 2018 in Greenville surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Grete (Ewert) Imondi, and the two celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary shortly before his passing. Paul was born in Providence, R.I. to the late Angelo and Vincenzina (Mancini) Imondi and was the ninth of eleven children.

Paul served in the Air Force during the Korean War as an aircraft mechanic. He was stationed in Germany where he met his beloved wife Grete. They met at a dance hall near the base, and from that day forward they never missed a chance to dance in each others arms. The couple was often spotted “cutting a rug” to their favorite live music well into their golden years. Paul worked as a quality control inspector for Uniroyal and EG&G Seal, as well as various other occupations; Paul was known as a "Jack of all trades". He was always willing to take time to help out his friends, family and neighbors. Paul was also known for his strong sense of humor. He would often kid around with friends and strangers alike to try to make them laugh and smile. Paul also loved playing sports; he enjoyed football and was an avid softball player. He is remembered as being able to hit the ball a "country mile.” Paul was a very strong and determined man. He was a devoted husband and a caring father who tried hard to instill his knowledge into each of his children.

Paul was preceded in death by his brothers Hank and Joseph, as well as his sister Anne Blackwood. He is survived by brothers Alfred of Merrick, NY, John of North Providence, Angelo of Johnston, Richard of New Port Rickey, FL, William of Hope, and sisters Mary Kusmierz of Warwick and Evelyn Grindley of Swansea, MA. He was predeceased by his son Raymond of Cumberland, and is survived by his sons Robert of Woonsocket and Russell of Cranston, and a daughter, Paula Frederickson of N. Scituate. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and four great-granddaughters.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 1 - 2 PM, with services to follow in the Tucker-Quinn Funeral Chapel, at 2 pm, 643 Putnam Avenue, Greenville, RI 02828.
