Peter R. Scorpio, JR. Obituary

Peter R. Scorpio, Jr., 82, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Barbara J. (Middleton) Scorpio and the late Joan M. Scorpio. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Peter R. and Sarah Scorpio. Mr. Scorpio lived in Greenville, RI for many years before moving to Chepachet 30 years ago. He is currently the building official for the Town of Cumberland and was the former building official for the towns of Foster and Glocester. Peter was the former owner of BJ Construction Company, Scorpio Associates, a member of the RI Building Officials Association and a former member of the Glocester and Smithfield Lions Clubs.
In addition to his wife Barbara, he was the father of Jo-Ann Scorpio Carlton, Lori A. Scorpio, Michael W. Scorpio and the late Peter R. Scorpio, III. He was the grandfather of James Carlton, Jr., Jennifer DeSousa, Krysta Scorpio, Daniel Scorpio and the late Jason Scorpio. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren and was the brother of the late Gloria Pesaturo.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Ave., Greenville, Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 9:30am. Visitation, Tuesday from 5-8pm in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave., (Rt.44) Greenville. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241 will be appreciated.
