Robert Maher, Sr. Obituary

Robert Maher, Sr., WFD (ret), 80, passed away peacefully Friday, September 6, 2019 at Hope Hospice & Palliative Care in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Madeleine R. (McGarrahan) Maher for 57 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Albert J. and Katherine (O’Leary) Maher. Robert was the loving father of Paula A. Farrell and her husband Robert, and Robert Maher Jr. and his wife Tina; loving grandfather of Kayla Maher, Matthew Maher, and Robert Maher, III. He was the brother of Thomas Maher, Eleanor Reed, and the late Albert, Edward, and Raymond Maher, and Regina Neilan. Mr. Maher was a US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Warwick Fire Department Rescue as Lieutenant, Mr. Maher was employed for Child Inc. in Warwick for 20 years.

His visitation will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2019 from 4-7PM with a service to follow at 7 PM in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 will be appreciated.
