Obituary

Ronald “Ronnie” Anderson, 86, died suddenly at home on Monday, January 18, 2021. The son of Joseph and Ellen Anderson, he was raised in North Easton, Massachusetts.

After coming to Jamestown in the early 1960’s, he became a trusted custodian of many island yards. For many years he would shovel snow and mow the lawn at the Central Baptist Church. Ronnie was a familiar face around town, frequenting local businesses, the deli, hardware store and Baker’s, where he enjoyed meeting and talking with everyone. He lived and died with the success of all the Boston sports franchises and was never happier than when one brought home a championship. Ronnie also loved to travel and would always look forward to the family’s annual trip to New Hampshire and Vermont.

Ronnie is survived by a sister, Shirley Waters of Jamestown, and a nephew, Geoffrey Waters of New York City.

Due to COVID-19 conditions, there will be no public service and he will be buried alongside his parents in South Easton, Massachusetts.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to March of Dimes, PO Box 18819 Atlanta, GA 31126, or the ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090 will be appreciated.
