Stephen F. Poniatowski, 58, passed away peacefully, Sunday June 3, 2018. He was born in Providence, a son of Marion E. (Dyer) Poniatowski of Pawtucket, RI, and the late Stanley F. Poniatowski. Stephen was a resident of Hopkinton for 30 years and was the maintenance supervisor for Falvey Linen. His vast employment also included the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority for 17 years, Brown University for 4 years and private consulting. He was a 1978 graduate of St. Raphael Academy in Pawtucket, RI and he attended Salve Regina College in Newport, RI. Stephen was a licensed master plumber and held numerous trade certifications. He truly was a jack of all trades and lended his talents to family and friends whenever asked. Steve was always there whenever anyone needed him and loved his family and friends unconditionally. Steven also dedicated many years to the Boy Scouts of America and became an adult scout leader. This experience he enjoyed greatly with his son Stephen. He enjoyed cooking, and planning beach picnics with his daughter Kate and grandson Brian. Steve was happiest enjoying the outdoors, especially the beaches of East Matunuck, RI and smoking a premium cigar with his brother in-law Steve Jacques. Steve was an incredibly gifted man using his hands and was always ready to help his brother James with his many properties whenever necessary, a better brother could never be found. As a hobby, Steve was a collector of sports cars and motorcycles. He was his sister Katherines go to guy, and they shared a private joke that they were the same age between January 29 and December 31 each year. Steve was a precious gift in her life.
In addition to his mother, he was the beloved father of Monica LeMay of Colorado, Stephen S. Poniatowski of Hopkinton and Kate L. Poniatowski of Charlestown. He was the brother of Katherine P. Jacques (Steven) of Needham, MA, James J. Poniatowski of Cranston, RI and Ft. Myers, FL and the late Thomas S. Poniatowski. He is also survived by his grandchildren Brian Gillian, Zachary and Mikayla LeMay.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 8, 2018 from 4-7pm with his funeral on Saturday at 8:30am from the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Rd., North Kingstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am in St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland St., Narragansett, RI. Burial will be private.
