Obituary

Theodore H. “Ted” Potvin, 83, of Coventry passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at the Hope Hospice Center in Providence. He was the husband of Cecile P. (Charland) Potvin.
He was born in Coventry on July 18, 1935, a son of the late Omer and Claire (Rondeau) Potvin.
Ted was a machinist at the former Stanley-Bostitch Company in East Greenwich for over thirty years.
He was a Marine Corps veteran. He enjoyed collecting fine antiques and was known locally as the “Lamp Man.”
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Wayne Potvin and wife, Tammie of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Denise Sutton and husband, Craig of Coventry; a brother, Andrew O. Potvin of Coventry; and two granddaughters, Tarah Sutton and Danielle Sutton-Bouchard. He was the father of the late Michael Potvin.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 9 am from the Potvin-Quinn Funeral Home, 45 Curson Street, West Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in SS. John & Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry. Interment will be in the Saint Joseph Cemetery in West Warwick. Visiting hours are Monday 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory maybe made to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, R.I. 02904.
