Greene, Myrtle, "Princess White Feather," 99, passed away December 24, 2014, at Greenwood Center. Born in Seekonk, MA, she led a life well spent and true to His calling. She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Isabelle (Elderkin) Greene and mother of the late Richard L. Greene.
Myrtle was a member of Zion Gospel Temple in East Providence for many years. She taught Sunday School, was a Deaconess and a member of the choir. She attended off and on the Carousel and Grapevine Ministries, was a tribal elder and a Prayer Warrior for the Seaconke Wampanoag Tribe.
Myrtle was formerly employed as a lunch aide for the Warwick Neck School and a jewelry worker for Anson Jewelry and Briars Jewelry Mfg.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Gail Agajanian of Warwick and Edwin Harrington of Coventry; five great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren who she loved so much down through the years. She also leaves five nephews, James R. "Wise Eagle" and Ronald R. Burns "Tall Deer" of Long Island and Steven A. Burns "Strong Bear", Wilfred Greene "Chief Eagle Heart" and Gerald Greene of Warwick, and many other loved ones. She was the sister of the late Wilfred Greene, Joseph Busher, Joel Greene and Beatrice Burns; and aunt of the late Robert Burns.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday, December 27, at 9 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., followed by a service in the Zion Gospel Temple, 70 Leonard Avenue, East Providence, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Cranston.
